Wayson Choy Wins George Woodcock Lifetime Achievement Award

On June 11th, Canadian writer and Order of Canada winner Wayson Choy was awarded the George Woodcock Lifetime Achievement Award at the Vancouver Public Library. In his speech, he reflects the voice of immigrant children, caught between the new world they belong to and the old world their parents and elders take refuge in. Now, Mr. Choy no longer feels "neither here nor there" -- he no longer feels that he is a hyphenated Canadian as he accepts this prestigious award. Congratulations on your lifetime of work!Click here to watch Wayson Choy's speech, filmed by Elwin Xie.Below Wayson Choy signs PCHC-MoM's book of signatures, giving his endorsement to the society. We hope one day that this book will be an important historic artefact for future generations, to be housed in the Museum of Migration.CHZYifcUkAADUY9
