Book Launch - "Reconciling: A Lifelong Struggle to Belong" with Larry Grant

"It’s taken most of Larry Grant’s long life for his extraordinary heritage to be appreciated. He was born in a hop field outside Vancouver in 1936, the son of a Musqueam cultural leader and an immigrant from a village in Guangdong, China."

Spend the afternoon with Elder Larry Grant sʔəyəɬəq 洪禮興 as he shares his life story in his new book Reconciling: A Lifelong Struggle to Belong.

Reconciling is a personal and historical story of identity, place, and belonging from a Musqueam-Chinese Elder caught between cultures. Larry tells the story of his life, including his thoughts on reconciliation and the path forward for First Nations and Canada.

This in-person event will feature a conversation between Larry and writer Scott Steedman, a book signing, and an opportunity to celebrate the extraodinary experiences of Larry Grant just days after his 89th birthday!

This event is free to attend but registration is required. Donations are welcome upon entry.

Pre-order Reconciling here to secure a copy for signing! Limited copies will be available at the event for purchase from Chinatown Wonders.

All donations and net proceeds from book sales will go towards Musqueam language projects including a multilingual children's book on Larry Grant's childhood.

This event is co-hosted by Chinatown Wonders and The Asian Canadian Writers' Workshop
